FRIENDSGIVING
A time to celebrate gratitude, fellowship, and connection.
Fellowship means building meaningful relationships rooted in faith, love, and shared purpose.
It’s where community thrives, and we experience God’s presence through each other.
Friendsgiving invites us to come together as a church family, sharing in the joy of belonging and spreading God’s love.
Let’s make this season one of growth, connection, and impact for His glory.
Connecting
Like the Early Church
"All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of their possessions was their own, but they shared everything they had. . . . And God’s grace was so powerfully at work in them all that there were no needy persons among them." – Acts 4:32-35
Picture the early church—a gathering where people from all walks of life came together, united in faith and love. They didn’t view their possessions as personal property but as blessings to be shared. Their radical generosity met every need, and their faith-inspired unity turned strangers into family (Romans 12:4-5).
At Strong Tower, we’re striving to live out this example. Fellowship after service is one way we create this sense of unity. It’s a chance to meet someone new, share reflections on the sermon, or pray together. Like the apostles who embodied servant-leadership (Ephesians 4:11-13), we aim to build a thriving, Christ-centered community.
Let’s take these moments after service to connect deeply, pray for one another, and grow together in God’s grace. Because as each of us uses our God-given gifts (1 Corinthians 12:12-27), we build a church that reflects the early believers’ vision of unity, love, and shared purpose.
Friendsgiving Opportunities
Monocacy Middle School Coat Drive
Winter can be a harsh season, especially for students who lack proper outerwear. For many at Monocacy Middle School, staying warm is a daily challenge that impacts their ability to thrive. By donating coats, jackets, and sweatshirts, we can provide not just physical warmth but also a reminder that their community values and supports them. Bring your donation to any service this month. Together, we can meet the goal of 300 coats and spread Christ’s love.
Young Adults Friendsgiving Feast
For many young adults, finding a place to belong can feel like a challenge. On November 24th at 5:30 PM, join us in Restoration Fellowship Hall for a potluck Friendsgiving Feast—a time to share food, laughter, and stories. This is open to members and non-members alike; bring a friend and your favorite dish. Please register through the church app with the dish you’ll bring and how many will be attending. Together, let’s build a thriving, Christ-centered community that welcomes all.
Life in Limbo Workshop
Foster care can feel like a distant issue, but its impact is deeply personal for the children and families involved. The Life in Limbo® workshop by Fostering Great Ideas® provides a rare opportunity to experience their challenges firsthand. Through role-playing, participants step into the shoes of foster children, parents, and caregivers to gain a powerful understanding of their realities. Join us on November 24th at 2 PM at Damascus Road Community Church for this eye-opening experience that fosters empathy and inspires action.
Friendsgiving Updates
FCC CougarMart
Hunger is a reality for many Frederick Community College students, but together, we can make a difference. Bring your donations for the CougarMart the first weekend of every month. Every contribution helps students focus on their education with the assurance of a meal.
Compassion Sponsor
Make a lasting impact on a child’s life by becoming a Compassion Sponsor. Your generosity provides education, hope, and the love of Christ to children in need. Together, we can reflect God’s compassion and build brighter futures.
Prayer at Strong Tower
Prayer is one of the most powerful ways we connect with God and one another. It’s an act of faith, a moment of surrender, and an opportunity to align our hearts with His will.
The Bible reminds us, "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God." – Philippians 4:6. When we pray, we invite God’s peace to guard our hearts and minds, even amidst life’s challenges.
Powerful Connection
Prayer is the lifeline of our faith and a cornerstone of our community at Strong Tower. As Jesus said, “For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them” (Matthew 18:20). Whether in quiet solitude or unified voices, prayer draws us closer to God and to one another. It allows us to bring our hopes, burdens, and gratitude before Him, knowing He hears every word.
