5 Promises of God that Can Change Your Life
One of the most common commands in scripture is to "remember!"
In the Old Testament, the Hebrew word for remember is often "zakar." Zakar means to consider, to reflect, to call to mind. In the New Testament, there are several words that mean "remember."
Yet the underlying meaning throughout scripture is that God asks us to "remember the past in such a way that the facts remembered have an impact on the present." (Bible Study Tools).
In other words, the act of remembering what is true about God is meant to remind us what is true about ourselves.
We're meant to "remember" Who God is and what He has done for us in a way that changes us.
We're meant to remember in a way that builds our faith, encourages our joy, and grounds us in the truth.
As believers we are to meditate, to live in, to declare, the promises of God over our lives every single day!
Today I'm sharing 5 simple promises about who you are in Christ that you should "remember" today. Let these promises change your life heart, mind, and life!
1. I am loved.
God loves me so much that He sent His only son to die for me on the cross. (John 3:16).
2. I am not afraid.
God has not given me a spirit of fear. He gives me power, love, and self-discipline. (2 Timothy 1:7)
3. I can have the peace of God no matter what, and I can be grateful no matter what.
"I let the peace of Christ rule in my heart...I am called to peace and I am thankful." (Colossians 3:15 NIV)
4. I have everything I need.
"God makes all grace abound toward me so that I always have what I need for every good work." (2 Corinthians 9:8)
5. No matter where I go, God is always with me.
"The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. He fulfills the desires of those who fear him; he hears their cry and saves them." Psalm 145:18
